Taking wellness to another level
SALT CAVE

Petra's Salt Tavern has taken an ancient healing treatment of speleotherapy (cave therapy) and combined it with 21st century technology to bring Colorado Springs a unique healing environment. The secret of healing in the salt cave is simple. The air in it is saturated with salt and many minerals and trace elements contained in it. By staying in the cave, elements essential for the proper functioning of an organism get absorbed into it. A body thus gets into balance and begins to heal by itself; because it is only man alone, who can heal himself. All the rest, such as medicine, only serves to supports and aid the body in its self-healing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How should I dress for entering the salt cave?

One should dress the same way as usually, which would be appropriate for a public place. You may not wear shoes in our Salt Cave. We provide shoe/foot covers or you can bring fresh, clean white socks. Please be sure to bring socks for your children.

Can I go to the salt cave if I have a cold and cough?

That is the best thing you can do for your health. But staying in the cave is not suitable with a fever. However, immediately after the fever breaks, the cave is the most appropriate place for recovery.
And all bacteria and viruses in the cave are destroyed after each visit by UV rays for protecting other visitors.

Our cave is 400 square feet with 9 foot ceilings. The therapy lasts for 45 minutes.

The temperature in the salt cave is kept constantly at 20 – 22 °C (68 – 72 °F), by floor heating in the winter and by air conditioning in the summer. You rest on an adjustable chair and you can use a blanket to cover yourself  If you should feel chilly. The humidity is held between 55-65%.
